Free Kosova: Kosovo: Albanian Writer Says 'Every Nation Has A Right To Ask For Its Freedom'

It Is Nothing New

The nationalist ideology provided an answer. It defined the Serbs according to a historical legend, based part on fact, part on fiction. Not only did the nationalist ideology reach back 600 years to tales of the defeat of Serbia by the Ottoman forces at the battle of Kosovo Polje, it also encompassed the more factual and more recent tragedies suffered by Serbs during World War Two at the hands of Croatian pro-Nazi Ustashe.
By the early Nineties, an extremist element of rising Croatian nationalism fed the flames of fear, especially in Serb majority regions of Croatia, by rehabilitating Ustashe symbols. The new Serbian identity became one in opposition to the "other" - Croats (collapsed into Ustashe) and Muslims (collapsed into "Turks").

Milosevic's propaganda campaign was based on the same techniques as used by Adolf Hitler, with the added power of television.

Indeed, it was through myths and, therefore, the appeal to the forces of the unconscious, to fear and terror, the instinct of power and the lost community that the propaganda orchestrated by Goebbels had succeeded in winning over the Germans and melding them into a compact mass,"
"The Serbian regime would use a similar technique. To weld the population together, official propaganda drew on the sources of the Serbian mystique, that of a people who were the mistreated victims and martyrs of history and that of Greater Serbia, indissolubly linked to the Orthodox religion."

The fundamental principles of propaganda, highlighted by de la Brosse, are: keep it simple; project one's own faults onto the enemy; use the news to one's own advantage through exaggeration, distortion and omission; repeat the message endlessly; rely on myths and history; and create a national consensus.
Serbian television and radio's repetitive use of pejorative descriptions, such as "Ustashe hordes", "Vatican fascists", "Mujahedin fighters", "fundamentalist warriors of Jihad", and "Albanian terrorists", quickly became part of common usage.
Unverified stories, presented as fact, were turned into common knowledge - for example, that Bosnian Muslims were feeding Serb children to animals in the Sarajevo zoo. In these stories, friends and neighbors, fellow countrymen and women were turned into "the other", lacking humanizing or individual characteristics

Serbian Fascistic Anti Semitism

In July, 1942 Jews from Leskovac, Zajecar and Jagodina were brought to Nis. The men were immediately shot at Bubanj, and the women and children taken to the Sajmiste. In parallel with the physical destruction of the Jewish people, the Germans and the Serbian quisling government organized the theft of all Jewish property. So that the theft should be the more effective, an order was first of all proclaimed requiring the registration of all companies the owners of which were Jews:

Kosovo the ultimate myth

Ever since Martti Ahtisaari made his plan public, we have been hearing the most unbelievable pronouncements coming from Serbian officials concerning Kosovo’s future status. Whether ‘imaginative’ or ‘threatening’, they have the following in common: they are formulated in such a way as to prepare public opinion for a Serbian refusal to accept the international community’s decision.

Policies of inat and sevap

All this irresistibly recalls the Serbian state’s interventions in other ‘Serb lands’, especially those across the Drina. Nationalist Belgrade everywhere first encouraged local Serbs to revolt, then distributed arms to them and sent them army and police officers and volunteers. The rebellion, of course, did last for a while, but the epilogue is known in all its disaster: wherever the Belgrade nationalists intervened, there are no longer any Serbs. If this madness continues in the case of Kosovo Mitrovica, few of them will remain there either.
I have written on a number of occasions about the ‘sleepers’ who remained in Kosovo after the withdrawal of the Serbian security forces, to be re-activated at a prescribed time.

One needs only read Nikolaj Velimirović to see why these people like him so much [see following articles, and Bosnia Report new series 32-34, p.43]. Velimirović spoke out against Western civilisation, Western culture, said that the French Revolution was decadent because by endorsing the rights of man it had destroyed the natural order. It is enough to read the main ideologue of the Serb Orthodox Church to see how much he hates modern civilisation. It is all crazy, in fact, but this is the credo of our governing circles. Koštunica is trying to reconcile this idea with the process of integration into Europe, which is impossible. His impotence derives from the fact that he is attempting to join together two incompatible things. His heart and mind are on the side of anti-Western rhetoric, anti-democratic traditions and institutions, while at the same time he knows he has no real alternative to joining the West.

Professor Đorđević is best known for his works on religion, which maintain a critical attitude towards the misuse of religion and the Serb Orthodox Church. On the evening of the stoning of his house, he had taken part in a television programme about Nikolaj Velimirović, recently proclaimed a saint of the Church. He had talked about Nikolaj’s anti-semitism, his praise of Hitler, and his friendship with Dimitrije Ljotić whose paramilitary formations fought with the Nazis during World War II. For some time now Serbia has been awash with ideas and projects associated with Fascism. This ideological wave helps to protect from punishment the perpetrators of crimes committed in the recent war. BEATIFULL ALBANIA

I am posting this here first because I was born there and beside it is really beautiful – at least in my eyes
Second, because Serbian propaganda announces Albania the worst place in the planet (another great lie) but the foreign visitors have great experience.
